The department

Our Real Estate Team covers every aspect of commercial real estate work including planning and environmental, development, investment, asset management, funding, construction, landlord and tenant and dispute resolution. Clients include property management and development companies, health trusts and government bodies (local and central), owner occupiers and institutions, both in the UK and overseas.

Teams are drawn from our offices across the country (London, Manchester, Leeds and Bristol), ensuring our clients benefit from a combination of the most appropriately experienced team and local market knowledge.

Core responsibilities

Your core responsibities as a Secretary will require you to prepare correspondence and documents from digital dictation together with amending and formatting of documents and assisting with incoming billing, cash collection and accounts queries.  

You will have responsibility for ensuring that client contact information is kept up to date and for booking client meetings.

  • You will be expected to assist with ad-hoc business development and communications activities e.g. client contact reports, delegate packs etc and you will be expected to handle confidential information in line with the firms data security protocols.

Key skills

You will need to be qualified to a minimum of 5 GCSEs (including a grade C in English and Maths) or equivalent. A secretarial NVQ / Diploma or equivalent would be beneficial but is not essential but you must have previous secretarial experience within Real Estate with a minimum typing speed of 65 WPM.

You must be a confident user of IT, particularly in Microsoft packages and experience of Filesite would be beneficial. 

You must be able to prioritise your workload, delivering to often competing deadlines, whilst having an excellent eye for detail with a concern for quality and accuracy.

You will be expected to have a flexible approach to your work inline with business requirements, working as a part of a team or independently keeping the client in mind at all times.

The confidence and ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing is essential to this role, as you will be expected to communicate in all areas and at all levels within the business.
