Background

  

Beachcroft LLP is the biggest defendant insurance litigation firm and is the top firm in the South West for defendant personal injury work (Chambers). Beachcroft LLP has been involved in some of the leading cases that have been reported so the work is often high profile.

  

The Claims Solutions team advises insurers and corporate clients in their defence of claims of all values, types and complexity. Our large Bristol team whose clients are a mix of leading names in the insurance industry as well as household name corporates, deal with all aspects of defendant litigation, to include catastrophic injury, motor, casualty, disease, product and health and safety. Increasingly, the team is getting involved in pre-emptive advice on these issues as well as dispute resolution. The team comprises 6 Partners, 7 Associates, 45 fee earners, and 18 support staff.

 

Core Responsibilities

  

In this busy and challenging role you'll be the first point of contact for designated clients. You'll be building relationships with client contacts at all levels (due to the nature of the work, contacts ranging from in house legal teams to production departments, human resources teams and line managers etc). You'll also be responsible for resolving general accounting matters and for issuing bills.

 

Your day to day responsibilities will range from analysing evidence and setting case strategies (encompassing both technical and commercial considerations), obtaining and drafting pleadings, compiling witness statements and letters of response, conducting negotiation of claims and preparing detailed counter schedules. You'll also be responsible for the sound file management of your cases, including consistent and accurate billing, management of WIP and file closures and updating management information.

Within this role you'll also be supporting marketing and business development activity within the team e.g. attending marketing events and client training.

 

Key Skills

  

In this fast paced and challenging post your strong academic background will be brought into play and ideally you'll have previous experience of handling litigated Motor personal injury claims. 

Exposure to and an enjoyment of target driven commercial environments is a great asset in this position as is your flexible, professional and committed approach to your work.
