Overview of Practice Area/Background

Our Claims Solutions Team deal with all aspects of defendant litigation, road traffic and employers liability, public liability, health and safety, product liability, criminal prosecutions arising out of the above.

DAC Beachcroft is committed to its strategy of being an attractive and progressive employer, and has developed a specialist home working team to process our client's volume litigation. The members of this team are based at home on a permanent basis and work under an innovative reward scheme.

Core Responsibilities

  

You will have responsibility of handling a varied case load of pre litigated and litigated claims that arise from incidents that occur within the sporting arena.  The cases will vary in value but are generally between £25,000 and £250,0000.  You will also assist a Partner and Associate within the team on cases being handled by them.  Handling all confidential information in line with the firms data security protocols. 

 

You will be expected to act as a point of contact for clients, demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate with experience.  As well as assuming responsibility for quality control and benchmark compliance on own caseload, including accuracy and timelines or management reporting and information.

 

Within this role you will develop an expertise with the arena of sport law whilst being able to maintain and develop technical knowledge through attendance of training sessions and reading appropriate publications.  You will hit, maintain and apply a consistent approach to all individual targets of financial performance, realisation rates, settlement rate and average claim spend.

  

Key Skills

  

The team are looking to recruit one experienced Solicitor with 3 years + PQE with a strong litigation background preferably gained within a personal injury environment.

You will be expected to:

• Demonstrate a good level of knowledge and technical skill and have a clear commercial understanding of a client's business needs.
• Have excellent legal drafting analytical and negotiating skills
• Be a confident communicator both verbally and in written form in a clear and concise manner.
• Handle a case load of pre litigated and litigated work for claims with a value up to £250,000.  These will include cases where liability is disputed.
• Have strong team working skills and to be a flexible and self motivated team player
• Have excellent organisational skills to prioritise and organise workload/tasks
• Have an ability to adopt a commercial perspective to legal issues
• Provide a quality service- ability to produce work to a high standard with accuracy
• Maintain an awareness of firm procedures and strategies.
• Demonstrate ability and exceed budgeting requirements in terms of time and fee income.
• Enjoy and have an understanding of sport.
