Overview of Practice Area/Background
The Claims Solutions team advises insurers in their defence of claims relating to fatal accidents, catastrophic injuries, rehabilitation, employer liability, product liability, sports injuries, occupational stress, repetitive strain, noise- induced hearing loss, road traffic accidents and defending motor prosecutions in the magistrates and crown courts. Services cover both high value specialist claims and smaller, less complex ones. In addition to this, the team provides advice on fraudulent claims and coverage disputes.
Our large Birmingham team whose clients are a mix of leading names in the insurance industry as well as household name corporates, deal with all aspects of defendant litigation, to include catastrophic injury, motor, coverage issues and casualty. Increasingly, the team is getting involved in pre-emptive advice on these issues.
Core Responsibilities
You will have responsibility for assisting a Partner in handling/running their RTA, EL / PL and catastrophic personal injury caseload, handling all confidential information in line with the firms data security protocols.
You will be expected to carry out investigations of claims from the onset and will take responsibility for obtaining witness statements, drafting pleadings and attending trials or conferences.
This role is suitable for both solicitors and paralegals/legal executives who have sufficient experience.
Key Skills
Minimum of 3 years litigation experience in EL, PL and RTA, Excellent Commercial awarenes and Excellent all round communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
