Job Description

Clifford Chance has a new opening for a Practice Area Manager for the London Corporate Practice. 

Our London Corporate practice is established as one of the leading practices in London. Our corporate lawyers advise clients on their strategic and challenging transactions across all major markets and in many cases with multi-jurisdictional dimensions. As Practice Area Manager your remit  will be to support the Practice Area Leader in managing the practice area, implementing practice area business plans and ensuring that there is consistency as far as possible across the London office in conjunction with how other practice areas operate.

You will perform a key role in assisting the corporate practice in business planning, budgets and forecasts so therefore strong analytical and accounting skills are required, as is an ability to analyse information and identify root causes of any problems. You will be assisting partners with fee estimates and proposals and will work in conjunction with Business Development to  review deal targets, as well as interacting closely with HR regarding  group utilisation and resource management.   This will be a broad role which will encompass a wide range of activities from the implementation of IT projects to working in conjunction with Practice Area Leader in co-ordinating partner conferences.

To be successful in this role it will be imperative to bring with you a familiarity of how a leading professional services firm works and in particular it would be advantageous to have a good understanding of how law firms financially operate. Naturally you will have the aptitude to develop strong working relationships across the firm and influence key stakeholders.
