Job Description

Department

Consistently ranked in the top tier category by both the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, Burges Salmon's Real Estate department is nationally renowned and "widely acknowledged as a market leader" (Legal 500). The team holds Legal Week's 2010 Property Team of the Year and the British Legal Awards 2011 Real Estate Team of the Year titles.

The team comprises 12 partners and some 60 lawyers and covers the full spectrum of property development, property finance, property investment and corporate occupier work in a variety of sectors including energy and utilities, construction and engineering, food and drink, transport and logistics, leisure and recreation, aerospace and defence, education and financial services.

We are looking to expand our Scots qualified team. Our existing Scottish law capability is embedded in our range of services and has proved consistently attractive to clients in all of these sectors.

Work

The Scottish Real Estate team is the largest and most experienced team outside Scotland. The firm acts for a wide range of clients, from blue chip quoted companies, major financial institutions and utilities to private investors and developers, professional practices and family businesses.

The firm will support and fund the post holder to become dual qualified (if the applicant is not already English law qualified). The post holder will have a spread of work in both jurisdictions enabling a genuine dual qualified experience with the benefit of retaining and building on existing Scottish knowledge and skills whilst developing new expertise in the English market.
