Job Description

Eversheds is not your average law firm and we're not looking for average people. We do things differently in the way we treat our people and the service we provide. That's how we've become one of the largest law firms in the world and a great place to work and develop your career. Recognised by The Lawyer magazine as part of the ?Litigation Elite?, Eversheds? team of experts acts for major clients throughout the world. Our people regularly deal with large-scale matters involving multiple jurisdictions for leading institutions through our award winning approach to project management. The Financial Services Dispute Resolution (FSDR) product group covers three key areas financial services litigation and contentious regulatory, insurance and fraud. The team services the needs of a wide range of financial institutions, including working with high profile clients such as HBoS, Barclays, HSBC, Bradford & Bingley and Santander. We are looking for an experienced lawyer to help grow financial litigation in Manchester. You will form an integral part of an energetic and truly collegiate team of financial services litigators who, on a national level, combine to form a team of 130+ lawyers specialising in this challenging and rewarding area of law. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload, supervise junior members of the team and provide assistance to partners and senior colleagues on larger cases. You can expect to become involved in major projects, often with international dimensions, and with investigations and enforcement proceedings involving the FSA and other regulators. You will be expected to play a key role in business development. You should have excellent technical abilities but must also have strong communication and organizational skills. You will be committed to providing a first rate client service. You should also be comfortable supervising the work of less experienced team members. To have gained this experience candidates will usually have 3 4 years post qualification experience, with a significant part of this experience specific to financial services litigation. However, we are happy to hear from anyone who can demonstrate the skills and knowledge we are looking for. You should be a team player, client focused and a good communicator with a strong practical approach to your workload. A commitment to delivering quality service is essential, as is the ability to juggle the demands of a heavy workload. In addition to the above, Eversheds also require full participation in the Firm?s commitment to equality and diversity, the environment and health and safety.
